Titan 1JZ/2JZ ARP 2000 Crank Bolt
Titan Motorsports has partnered with industry leading fastener manufacturer ARP to develop an upgraded crank bolt kit for the Toyota JZ engine. These upgraded units are manufactured using ARP 2000 material which offers a tensile strength of 220,000 PSI, over 45% stronger than the factory specified Grade 8 bolt. This increase in material strength is partnered with an oversized washer which is both thicker and larger in diameter to take advantage of the increased clamping load and to properly secure the damper to the crank over a larger surface area.

The additional clamp load delivered helps secure the harmonic damper to the crankshaft allowing it to function as designed, absorbing the unwanted kinetic energy caused by undesired movement of the crankshaft. This reduces the risk of the damper loosening from the crankshaft that can occur in racing environments where high RPMs are the norm. This bolt kit is designed to work with the OEM crank pulley, however we recommend it be paired with a ATI or Fluidampr crank pulley.

4 of 5 Awesome bolt but heed my warnings December 19, 2022
Reviewer: Galled and Confused from Gilbert, AZ United States
I bought this bolt so I wouldn't have to worry about re-using it multiple times. It's a great product with the exception that the washer cannot be perfectly centered like the OEM bolt.

I ended up destroying my crankshaft with this bolt by failing to use ultra-torq lubricant, pulling the balancer on with it instead of using a special tool, and removing/installing it at high speed with power tools. All of these factors cause thread galling which can jam the threads, seizing the bolt in place.

You have NO HOPE OF DRILLING THIS BOLT OUT. The metal must be annealed and even then is very susceptible to work hardening.

I am now waiting for my new crankshaft.

Note that the use of ultra-torq and the unique metal change the torque spec. Another listing for this item indicates 250 ft/lbs as the new fastening torque.
