Remanufactured starter for 1JZ, 2JZ, and 7M engines. The newer model starters commonly have problems with the solenoid and or starter motor, causing the starter to just "click" instead of starting. This can be an intermittent problem, which is very frustrating. This model starter is a gear reduction type, with serviceable brushes. It is physically longer than the later model JZ starters, so relocating your fuel dampener may be required. These use an older style spade connector, so changing your connector may be needed. These starters are more reliable than the newer, smaller, non-serviceable versions, and we have used this model on engine swaps for many years.

DO NOT BUY IF YOU HAVE A 1JZ VVTI, IT WILL NOT MOUNT. YOU NEED A 2JZ GE STARTER

For a while I was chasing an intermittent start issue that is common with Supras. I didn't start having the issue until I did a JZZ30 swap into my supra but I changed out wiring, grounds, the start relay, and even disassembled and cleaned the starter that came with the engine with no luck. I finally bit the bullet and bought this starter and man, I wish I had done it sooner.  It fixed the root cause of my starting issues and I'm happy with the purchase.

This replaced my Soarer’s oddball 1JZ-GTE Non-VVTi starter and works perfectly. No hesitation on startup whatsoever. 10/10 would recommend!!
